Who is Dr. Mitra Ray?

As a biochemist with a Ph.D. in cellular biology from Stanford University, Dr. Ray has worked in the arena of degenerative diseases, such as cancer and Alzheimer's disease.  Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the American Cancer Society and an Alzheimer's research grant with the National Institutes of Health.

In 1994, Dr. Ray made an important and personal discovery that radically changed her life and her work. After trying conventional methods of remedying excruciating back spasms - everything from complete rest to pharmaceutical intervention - Dr. Ray sought out how to take control of her health.  She changed her diet, her exercise, and her lifestyle...and her back pain subsided. Preventative concepts in health, such as whole food nutrition, became her new direction in research.

Today Mitra shares what she continues to learn about prevention around the world. She currently holds seminars in the United States, Canada and Europe, and has sold over a million copies of From Here to Longevity audios, DVDs, and books.

Mitra and her husband Doug Barlow are the proud parents of two lovely, healthy girls, Leela and Nira, and currently reside in Marysville, Washington.
